When we started on this journey of possibly moving to Uganda with a 2-year-old, and never having served in this capacity we knew it was out of our hands.We asked those around us to pray, but more specifically we asked questions about how do we even do this.

Not long into this journey Jeneane read a piece of scripture that we felt God wanted us to concentrate on. So we started to pray over it and get several people's input. It was Genesis 22, the story of Abraham and when he took Isaac to the alter. As far as Abraham knew Isaac was to be the offering. However God had a different plan, and after seeing Abraham’s obedience to what God asked him to do, He provided a ram.

We are still diligent to consider that this could mean God is leading us “to the alter” only to provide something else. This was what a few people thought about when we told the story. But, and we will see if this is true, we are starting to see that for us this story is more about the fact that if we are willing to do what he has called us to, He will provide our offering. It may not always look like what we think that offering will be but in the end it’s His offering and not ours, we just have to be obedient.  

God has provided over and over the right people to answer the right questions each step of the way. We have had people who knew the exact answer to a question we were asking, and others who thought of something we had not thought of but we needed to consider.
